The Missouri Senate today voted 23-8 today to override Gov. Nixon’s veto of Senate Bill 509, legislation to provide broad-based tax relief for Missouri workers and small employers.
“The Missouri Senate stood up for working Missourians today, voting to turn back the governor’s veto against tax relief for workers and small employers in our state,” said Dan Mehan, Missouri Chamber president and CEO. “The Missouri Senate believes that the way to grow Missouri’s economy is by investing in our economic drivers – workers and small businesses. Now we look to the leadership of the Missouri House to finish the job.”
The Missouri House is expected to follow the quick action of the Missouri Senate today or tomorrow.
