JEFFERSON CITY – The Missouri Chamber of Commerce and Industry will recognize Cerner, a global leader in health care technology, as the 2015 Missouri Chamber Champion of Enterprise. The award will be presented at the 2015 Missouri Chamber Annual Meeting at the Intercontinental Kansas City at the Plaza on Nov. 19, 2015.
The Champion of Enterprise Award is the highest honor the Missouri Chamber issues each year.
“This award recognizes Missouri employers that have demonstrated a true enterprising spirit and have made a significant contribution to our state through the years,” said Missouri Chamber President and CEO Daniel P. Mehan. “Cerner, celebrating its 36th year in business, is one of the youngest companies to have received the Champion of Enterprise award. Although a relatively young company, the Kansas City-based firm is a significant economic force in the state and internationally. Cerner is expected to add more than 16,000 new jobs in the next 10 years.”
Cerner’s health technologies support the clinical, financial and operational needs of organizations of every size and connect people and systems at more than 18,000 facilities in more than 30 countries worldwide. Since Cerner was founded in 1979 by Neal Patterson, Cliff Illig and Paul Gorup, it has innovated at the intersection of health care and information technology.
Today, Cerner is creating a future where the health care system works to improve the well-being of individuals and communities.
